The famous Bryan Ferry video - "Girl Of My Best Friend" was released in 1995. Before forming Roxy Music, Ferry tried to audition for King Crimson, who, after the departure of Greg Lake, were looking for a bassist: he was rejected as such, but received good recommendations from Robert Fripp - for David Einhoven, head of EG Records, a subsidiary of Island ... Here Ferry was first asked to record a solo album with session musicians, but when he rejected all candidates, they gave him free rein. The first person Ferry approached was bassist Graham Simpson, also of the Gas Board.
