Bryan Ferry's famous music video "This Is Tomorrow (1977 Promo Video)" was released in 1977. In his senior year at the Washington Grammar-Technical School (now known simply as the Washington School) on Spout Lane, Brian, who was a great painter, contemplated becoming an artist. In 1963, he became a student at the University of Deram, but studied here for a year, soon becoming a student of the painting department at Newcastle University, where he studied under the guidance of the famous British artist Richard Hamilton. In the fall of 1967, Brian Ferry demonstrated his artistic success with a two-week exhibition of his artwork in Durham.
