The famous clip Wham! - "Club Tropicana" was released in 1983. Michael and Ridgley went to school together. In 1981, they decided to form the group The Executive, but the experiment failed. Then they called themselves Wham! and began performing as a duet, with Michael responsible for the music, and Ridgeley for the image. Their first single, "Wham Rap!" (1982), was banned from radio stations for interspersed obscene words. Another hedonistic single, "Young Guns (Go for It)", soon followed, in which one member convinces the other to postpone the wedding.
