Fool's Garden

Band
Country: Germany
Carier start: 1991
Genre:
Many years ago, The Beatles arrived in Hamburg - those concerts are still remembered by non-renevians with a kind of inner trepidation. It would be surprising if the Beatles trail did not appear on German soil in the early 90s, when everyone and everyone, from Oasis to Blur, followed in the footsteps of the Liverpool four. Fool's Garden is the German response to the Britpop wave.

They, in general, have never hesitated to admit where exactly the ears grow from in their simple, but pleasant to listen to music. The band's leaders Peter Freudenthaler and Volker Hinkel have repeatedly named The Beatles among the main inspirers and suppliers of creative ideas for Fool's Garden. Well, for the listener, everything became quite obvious after the release of the third album "Dish Of The Day", which contained the band's main hit - the affectionate and a bit naive "Lemon Tree".

After this little thing from Fool's Garden, they were waiting for her understudy - and the group did not disappoint their fans' expectations: the group's second megahit was the somewhat cynical “Probably” from the 1997 album with the hard-to-remember name “Go And Ask Peggy For The Principal Thing”. And as for the immemorial 60s, honest Germans regularly made covers of the songs of spiritual fathers, releasing them as bonus tracks. Their hand touched, by the way, not only the Beatles "Ticket To Ride", but also "My Generation" by The Who.

Today Fool's Garden has slightly slowed down the momentum of activity, but still periodically delight fans with news from their own camp: firstly, they got rid of the apostrophe in the name and are called simply Fools Garden, and, secondly, in 2009 they released a collection of the best songs with one new track. This means that the new album is not far off!
