Amel Bent's famous music video “Où Je Vais” was released in 2009. Amel Bent grew up in the French commune of La Courneuve in an Algerian and Moroccan family. As a teenager, she studied psychology but was always fond of music. Music teacher Amel encouraged her to start singing. In 2004, she took part in the television project "Nouvelle Star" (analogue of British Pop Idol), in which she reached the semifinals. Despite the fact that she did not manage to win, the producers became interested in her. At the end of the same year, Amel released her debut album, Un jour d'été.
