Kanye West – Kanye West was born in Atlanta, but after his parents divorced, he moved to Chicago with his mother. The family was middle-class, and West's mom was an English professor. So Kanye studied well at school, and after graduation began to study at the American Academy of Arts, but his passion for music overpowered everyone else, and Kanye left the school to start recording and producing albums. West's first successful work was Jay-Z's "The Blueprint" (2001), more precisely, four tracks from this record. At the time of the beginning of the collaboration, Kanye was nothing compared to the super-successful producer and rapper Jay-Z. The latter even at first refused to sign West to his label Roc-A-Fella, believing that West would be more successful as a producer - his own work did not bear the "criminal" and "street" character, so popular among the majority of hip-hop audience. However, in 2004 Roc-A-Fella released West's debut album "The College Dropout". The album cover features a life-size puppet of Teddy bear, who was kicked out of college - apparently West was still worried about his "ruined" education. Subsequently, this bear, called the "dropout bear", became a kind of symbol of West and his work. – Каные Вест

[Kanye West:]
I just need to clear my mind now,

And I'm holdin' down the summer now,
And all I want is what I can't buy now
‘Cause I ain't got the money on me right now,
And I told you to wait,

Would be lost without me,
We could've been somebody
Thought you'd be different ‘bout it,
Now I know you not it,
So let's get on with it.

We could've been somebody,
‘Stead you had to tell somebody,
Let's take it back to the first party
When you tried your first Molly
And came out of your body,
And came out of your body,
Runnin' naked down the lobby,
And you was screamin' that you love me
Before the limelight tore ya,
Before the limelight stole ya,
Remember we were so young,
When I would hold you
Before the glory,
I know there ain't wrong with me,
Something strange is happenin'.

You could've been something,
We could've, ugh, we could've been somebody
Or was it all our first party
When we tried our first Molly
And came out of our body,
And came out of our body
Before they call lawyers,
Before you tried to destroy us,
How you gon' lie to the lawyers?
It's like I don't even know ya,
I gotta bring it back to the ‘Nolia.
