The popular video Elton John - "The One" was released in 1992. Reginald Kenneth Dwight was born in Pinner, England to Air Force Squadron Commander Stanley Dwight and his wife, Sheila. Young Dwight was raised primarily by his mother, and he did not see his father often. Stanley and Sheila divorced in 1962 when Dwight was 15. His mother married Fred Fairbrother, whom Elton fondly called "Derf". Dwight started playing the piano when he was four. A child prodigy, he was able to play any melody. At the age of eleven he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, where he then studied for six years.
