Eric Saade

Eric Saade grew up in the village of Kattarp near Helsingborg, Sweden. His father, Walid Saadeh, is from Lebanon but has Palestinian roots; mother, Marlene Jacobsson - Swedish. Parents divorced when Eric was four years old. Eric lived with his mother (as the court decided), but on weekends he saw his father. Eric is the second child in the family. He has seven more brothers and sisters. Saade started writing songs at the age of 13. Football was his main hobby until, at the age of 15, Eric signed his first musical contract. As a result, Saade recorded one album and three singles that went unnoticed. He became famous after winning the Swedish music competition Joker (now Popkorn).
