The famous HIM video - "When Love And Death Embrace" was released in 2004. HIM is a Finnish rock band founded in 1991 by vocalist Ville Valo, guitarist Mikko Lindström and bassist Mikko Paananen. Since 1999, drummer Mika Karppinen has been a permanent member, and since 2001, keyboardist Janne Puurtinen has been. Between 1997 and 2013, the group released eight studio albums. HIM is the first Finnish band in the world to have an album (Dark Light) certified gold disc by the American Recording Industry Association.
