The Cranberries
In the spring of 1993 , The Cranberries released their debut album , Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? But neither this disc, nor the single "Dreams" that followed it did not bring the group the success predicted by the critics. After a series of failures, the Irish went to the United States to support the band Suede, where they received an unexpectedly warm welcome. This did not pass by the attention of the producers of the MTV channel, who put the video for the song "Linger" in heavy rotation. The single peaked to number eight on the local charts, and as a result of the sale of the album, the Cranberries earned two platinum discs. As a result, the group's first album sold around the world with a total circulation of 15 million copies.
The second album "No Need To Argue" took 6th place in the US charts and went three times platinum. The next three Cranberries' albums solidified the success of the distinctive Irish, who were insistently called "the main competitors of U2".
The fifth numbered Cranberries' disc "Wake Up And Smell The Coffee" (2001) is considered the most mature and sustained in the band's work. Despite this, the group's activities came to naught by 2003, although there were no loud statements about the breakup. The participants got carried away with solo projects.
After four years of silence, the former vocalist of the group Dolores O'Riordan was born with a solo album. In 2007 she released the album "Are You Listening?", Which was warmly received by music lovers and journalists.
By August 2009, Dolores's second solo work arrived. The disc's title - "Without Luggage" - turned out to be not only symbolic, but also multidimensional. As it turned out, the unpredictable singer was not going to move on lightly - and on the day of the release of "No Baggage" she suddenly announced her return to the former "baggage" of the glorious group The Cranberries. The world tour, which kicked off in November 2009, featured all four original members - vocalist Dolores O'Riordan, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. The team managed to visit many cities in the USA and Europe, where it was received with unwavering enthusiasm.
