The popular video 50 Cent - "Winners Circle" is worthy of your attention. 50 Cent started rapping in a friend's basement. There he also used "turntables" to record backing tracks. In 1996, a friend introduced him to Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, who started his own label, Jam Master Jay Records. This was the first time Curtis was in the studio. He taught him how to count bars, write choruses, structure songs and make notes. 50 Cent's first official appearance was on the song "React" with Onyx, which was released on their 1998 album Shut 'Em Down. He trusted Jay as a mentor who helped expand his capabilities significantly. Jay is producing his first album, which has yet to be released.
