The famous music video The Kinks - "You Really Got Me" was released in 1990. The composition hit the first line of the UK Singles Chart and stayed on it for 2 weeks. The song became one of the hits of the British invasion, peaking at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1965. The recorded guitar solo is the source of one of the most controversial and persistent myths in rock and roll history: many believe it was not played by the band's guitarist Dave Davis and former session musician Jimmy Page, who later joined The Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin. Among those who claimed that Paige recorded this guitar solo was John Lord of Deep Purple, who also claimed to have played piano on the highway.
