The Chemical Brothers – The Chemical Brothers duo was born in London in 1992. At first, Tom and Ed called themselves The Dust Brothers, but after a lawsuit from the producer duo of the same name, they were forced to rename. "Chemists" moved in the wake of The Prodigy, also preaching a symbiosis of electronic music and rock, but if the Prodigy were by nature notorious punks, the Chemical Brothers did not stake on shocking. They looked like refined hippies, were inspired by Britpop and Madchester, and had friendships with Oasis and New Order. The brothers' hybrid of rock and breakbeat was called big beat and, picked up by artists like Fatboy Slim, immediately became fashionable.
