Will Smith's famous music video "So Fresh" was released in 1999. In Philadelphia, Smith meets musician Jeff Townes, with whom they became widely known in the late 1980s thanks to their hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, who became the first winner of a Grammy for Best Rap Performance. Since 1990, he starred in the popular television series The Prince of Beverly Hills, where he essentially played himself in his youth. During these early years, Will used the stage name Prince (from The Prince of Beverly Hills TV series). The series was a huge success for six years (1990-1996).
