The famous video Billy Joel - "Uptown Girl" was released in 1983. Joel was born into a rather poor Jewish family. His father, Howard Joel, worked for an electric company and played classical piano at home in his spare time. At the age of four, Billy began to study the piano. Tired of the constant beatings on the street, he decided to become a boxer and had 22 successful fights in the ring until his nose was broken. Joel never finished school. From 1967 to 1969 he played in the band The Hassles, with which they recorded two albums, and then recorded with one of its members as part of the duo Attila.
