Yiruma's popular video “Stay in Memory” was released in 2012. And Ruma has been playing the piano since the age of 5. At the age of 11, he was sent to England to study at the Purcell School of Music (a school for the musically gifted). In 1997, he entered King's College where he studied with musician Harrison Bertwistle. While studying at King's College, Yi Ruma released his first album, "Love Scene" under the DECCA label. In the same 2001, the second album, "First Love", was released. The most popular composition from it, "River Flows in You", was later included in two compilations.
