The Cardigans

The Swedish band The Cardigans was founded in Jönköping in 1992 by Peter Svensson and Magnus Sveningsson. By a happy accident, a couple of their songs ended up in the hands of the producer Tur Johansson, who contributed to the recording of their debut album. Nina Persson became the soloist.

The producer was not mistaken: the band's first album, Emmerdale, released in 1994, was voted the best album of the year by a vote by Slitz magazine, which resulted in a huge number of concerts and great popularity at home.

“The Cardigans” gradually found their listeners: their second disc brought them fame, and the album “Life” itself became platinum in Japan.

But the group managed to conquer literally everyone only the next year with the hit "Lovefool" from their new album "First Band on the Moon". Musicians evolve, which makes their music more complex and lyrics more soulful.

The single "My Favorite Game" from the 1998 album "Gran Turismo" consolidated the international success.

Then the guys released "The Other Side of the Moon" and have been working on solo projects for some time. They return in 2003 with a new album, Long Gone Before Daylight, which goes double platinum. And already in 2005 the band presented the album "Super Extra Gravity".

In 2006, the musicians released the single “Don't blame your daughter”, and in 2008 - a collection of the best songs on two discs “Best of”. Despite the "album" lull, for the first time after a long break, the group went on tour in 2012.
