SHINee

In late May 2008, articles about the new group from SM Entertainment began to appear on the internet. The group was named SHINee (SHINee is a modified word for "Shine" - "shine", "shine"). SHINee's first mini-album, "Replay", was released on May 23rd. The mini-album debuted at # 10 on the music charts and later climbed to # 8 with 17,957 copies sold in the first half of 2008.

In August, the band takes part in the SMTown '08 concert and wins the Best New Artist award at the MNet's 20's Choice Awards. At the end of the month, on August 28, SHINee released the full-length album The Shinee World, which immediately climbed to # 3 on the music charts, selling 30,000 copies. The first single from the album, "Sanso Gateun Neo (You're Like Oxygen)", is a cover of the song "Show the World" by Danish singer Martin. On September 18, the single took first place in the M! Countdown rankings. A few days later, for the same single, SHINee received the Mutizen Award on SBS's Popular Songs.

On October 30, the band participates in the Style Icon Awards ceremony and wins the title of "New Style Icon". On the same day, a re-release of The Shinee World was released under the changed name Amigo.
In early February 2009, SHINee received the Best New Artist award at the 18th Seoul Music Awards.

The band's third mini-album "Year of Us" was released on October 19, 2009.

The second full-length album "Lucifer" was released on July 19, on the same day as the video for the title track of the same name. Within a few hours, the album topped many music charts, and also took the first lines in sales ratings.

On January 1st, 2011, SHINee performed at the Olympic Park Stadium in Seoul as part of their Shinee World tour.

After nearly two years of absence, SHINee returned to the music scene on March 22, 2012 with a new album, Sherlock.
