JohnyBoy

Johnyboy (Vasilenko Denis Olegovich) was born on November 30, 1991 in the city of Salaspils, Latvia.
From an early age, like all novice rappers, he wrote poetry, and already at school, together with his classmates, he prepared a song for a holiday in honor of being initiated into tenth graders.
In August 2008, after an offer from a school sound engineer, he recorded his first 40-second track under the network nickname Johnyboy to participate in his first Internet battle Bounce battle 2

Ask how Denis got the nickname JohnyBoy? Everything is very simple:
When he was still little, he loved to skate, and once while skating, he fell! One of the friends commented: "Well, you are Joe Tanto straight!" (hero from films with Sylvester Stallone). The nickname became boring instantly, moreover, those around him were constantly interpreted as "John", "George", "Jonathan", etc., until they came to a single nickname - "John". As it happens with many Internet users, Denis, when registering on social networks, when entering the nicknames "John" and "Johny", found that they were busy. Using the example of a friend, without hesitation, I added the prefix "boy". Since then, the rapper has been called Johnyboy.

After some hesitation, in 2008 Denis goes on a solo voyage and dreams of building a career as a hip-hop artist. For this, he, in particular, even refused to study in England. Participation in Internet battles at that moment becomes for him the main occupation in life. At the beginning of 2009, at one of the parties organized by a local hip-hop site, Denis met the Latvian rapper Sifo - the same newcomer, but who had his own recording studio. Young and motivated guys start working together, helping each other with advice and even organizing a short-lived group "Undercatz".

He lost his first battle. The second ended for him with a quarrel with a friend from Germany, with whom they participated in a team competition. And then the first successes began. Three victories in a row in such competitions brought Denis the title of "Best Rapper of Latvia" according to the central Latvian hip-hop portal LvHH.lv in 2010. In the same year, the Russian site InDaRnB.ru announced the start of one of the largest online tournaments - the InDaBattle2 battle, in which more than 8000 MCs from all over the post-Soviet space take part. And the best of these 8000 is Johnyboy, who at that time was only 19 years old.

Already in the Third IndusBattle, he acts as a judge.
Then everything began to take shape like clockwork for Denis: he recorded the album "Cold", after which the Internet just exploded, his tracks just flew across the pages of social network users. Denis continues his solo career, and is preparing a second solo album at the end of 2012.
