IAN SOMERHALDER

Ian Somerhalder was born on December 8, 1978 in the small southern town of Covington, Louisiana, the son of a massage therapist and a construction contractor. But Iain lived in the seaside town of Mandeville, so small that there was not even a maternity hospital there, so for the birth of his mother, he had to go to another city. He has an older sister, Robin, and a brother, Bob, both named after Robert's father. His father is of English and French roots, while Edna's mother is of Irish and Indian descent. Fishing and horse riding took up most of his time during his childhood.

At the age of ten, with the help of his mother, Ian got into the modeling business; every summer he traveled to New York to shoot. He had a contract with the best children's modeling agencies Click, Next, Arlene Wilson. A few years later, he had the opportunity to become a European model, Iain visited Paris, Milan and London. Somerhalder's first victory was the lead role in the TV series Young Americans. Although the show was not a success with the public, Ian continued filming on various series: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami Crime Scene, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Smallville. For one of his roles in the big movie "Life is like a home" Somerhalder was awarded the Young Hollywood Award.
One of Ian's most successful films was Rules of Sex (2002) based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, in which he played the homosexual Paul Denton. The film managed to earn $ 6.5 million.

After leaving Lost, Ian has starred in independent films such as Feeling of a Vision and The Tournament of Survival, as well as several television projects that the actor has described as bad films with bad acting. Ian's new breakthrough on television was one of the main roles in the TV series "The Vampire Diaries", where he played the insidious vampire Damon Salvatore.
