Julia Mikhalchik was born on February 2, 1985 in the town of Slantsy, Leningrad Region. She graduated from a music school, piano.
As a student at the school, Yulia begins to participate in various music competitions: in 1999 she becomes a laureate of the international competition "Voices"; in 2000 - a laureate of the international competition "Amber Star" in Jurmala. In 2001 she was named a laureate of the Young Petersburg competition, a laureate of the Voices of the World international competition and received the Grand Prix of the 21st Century Idols competition in St. Petersburg.
At the beginning of 2002, at one of the competitions for young talents in the St. Petersburg club "Hollywood Nights", sound engineer Vitaly Mukanyev introduces Yulia to Sergei Kokai, the founder of the St. Petersburg project "Korone". Julia becomes its soloist and records several songs, among which one can name " Night Blues " , " Blue Eyes " , " This is not love " .
In 2002, after graduating from a comprehensive school with a silver medal, Yulia Mikhalchik entered the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions, specializing in PR . In her first year, Julia becomes the host of the "Youth TV Channel" on TNT. After the launch of the TV project "Star Factory-3", the University administration expelled Yulia for absenteeism, despite the fact that she finished the first year with excellent marks.
In the spring of 2003, Yulia Mikhalchik was one of the leaders of the “Idols of the XXI Century” competition in the northern capital. Here, the Swedish producers of the Roxette group became interested in Julia's songs. And in August 2003 she came to Moscow for the semifinals of the Russian Debut music competition. One of the jury members of this competition was composer Alexander Shulgin, who suggested that Yulia come to the casting of "Star Factory-3". As a result, Julia becomes a finalist of the project and takes 3rd place there!
At the "Factory" she recorded and performed her first hits: "Hello, Peter", "Bird", "Voices", "Letter" and others. And in November 2004, according to the results of the competition of the magazine "Yes! -Star Factory", Julia was recognized as the best voice of all issues of this project.
From 2004 to 2007 Yulia was an artist of the production center of Victor Drobysh (National Music Corporation). In December 2004, her first video clip for the song "With Ice" was released.
On February 9, 2006, a very important event took place in the creative life of Yulia Mikhalchik: her debut album "If Winter Comes" was released, which became the sales leader according to the Soyuz Company.
In the same year, Yulia recorded the song "Where Love Lives" for the film of the same name, directed by Vladimir Shevelkov.
On December 6, 2007, the presentation of the second album of Yulia Mikhalchik " Spit " took place .
On March 12 and 13, Yulia Mikhalchik takes part in the concert “AlBano and His Lady. Part Two ”, held at the State Kremlin Palace, where he performed the famous“ Aria Pura ”and“ Wedding ”in a duet with a popular Italian singer.
On May 31, 2010, the third video of the singer for the song "Don't be afraid" was filmed. The video premiered on July 20, 2010.
