Before the Ivanushki International group, Andrei Grigoriev-Appolonov and Kirill Andreev worked as models and starred in video clips. On the set of the video for the Lyube group (Don't play the fool, America), in 1989, Andrei met the future producer and composer of Ivanushki International Igor Matvienko, but he took Andrei into the group much later - in 1994, after when I saw him at the Sochi Fashion Theater and realized that Andrey is the leader of the theater team.

The official date of the foundation of the collective is November 10, 1994. Initially, the group did not have its own name, and they performed under various pseudonyms ("Soyuz-Apollo", etc.). Only six months later, the final name "Ivanushki International" appeared.

In 1996 Ivanushki released their first studio album "Of course he". The entire album, with the exception of the song "Sunflower", was recorded in the tone studio of "Mosfilm". The band members sang in a toilet near the studio, where, according to Andrei Grigoriev-Appolonov, "excellent acoustics."

At the beginning of 1997 the band released their next album, "Of course he remix". In addition to remixes of already existing songs, "Ivanushki" also released their future hit - the song "Doll" and a cover version of the song "Dusya" by the group "Lube".

The second numbered album "Your Letters", which was also released in 1997, included 11 songs.

In March 1998, changes took place in the group. Igor Sorin leaves her, deciding to pursue a solo career. His place is finally taken by Oleg Yakovlev. Oleg Yakovlev's debut took place in the clip "Doll". Sorin's fate was tragic: on September 1, 1998, he tried to commit suicide by jumping out of the window of his studio, which was on the 6th floor, and on September 4, he died in the 71st hospital in Moscow from spinal shock.

In 1998 Ivanushki released the song "Poplar fluff". In the summer of 1998, the video for this song was widely rotated on the air of Russian channels. The song contains the words "poplar fluff, heat, July". Mikhail Andreev, the lyricist of the song, said in the 2010 documentary "Ivanushki International: Remember Everything" on the Muz-TV channel, included in the Popular Truth cycle, that he saw poplar fluff in July in Tomsk. There, in the city that he considers to be his family, Andreev wrote the lyrics.
In 1999, the disc "Fragments from Life" was released, dedicated to the memory of Igor Sorin. This album contains unique recordings: Igor's poems performed by him, his first songs recorded before he became "Ivanushka".

In April 1999, the group "Ivanushki International" released the third album "About this I will shout all night." This is the first album in which Oleg Yakovlev took part as a full-fledged soloist.

The album "About this I will shout all night" includes ten new songs, among which there are already well-known compositions - "Poplar fluff" and the song "Near you", included in the album "Fragments of life" in memory of Igor Sorin under the title "I love you I will never forget".

The next album "Ivanushki" was the disc "Wait for me", followed by "Oleg, Andrey, Kirill", released in 2002.

The song "Ivolga", released in 2006, remained unnoticed, and "I Can't Without You", which appeared a year later, was also very little rotated on music channels.
