Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke was born on August 25, 1988. Her father is from Jamaica and her mother is British. Parents divorced when Alexandra was 6 years old. She spent her childhood and adolescence in Islington, with four brothers and one sister.

Alexandra has been singing since she was five, and at nine she was already performing on stage in Bahrain with her mother. At the age of 12, the girl participated in the star of the night talent show, in which it turned out that she was the youngest participant in the competition. But then the victory went to a competitor named Joss Stone. Then mother Burke, invited her to sing for Jean Carne - one of the judges of the competition, in the end, Carne was so impressed that she asked the young performer to perform on her show.

After long performances at minor events, Alexandra, having matured, tried herself in 2005 in The X Factor competition, but then, according to the casting results, she was considered too young. This did not stop the singer, and in 2008 she still takes the main prize! Namely, a contract with the SYCO record company, which is co-owned by Sony Music Entertainment. She was contracted to receive £ 1m, of which £ 150,000 in cash, with the remainder for recording and marketing expenses.

On December 15, 2008, Burke makes her first strides, setting the European record for one sale in 24 hours. She sold 105,000 copies of her debut single "Hallelujah".

In an interview with Digital Spy, Alexandra Burke stated that the upcoming second studio album will be "bolder, more risky and sexy." The recording of the album was interrupted during her first All Night Long Tour. RedOne, Bruno Mars, Stargate and Ne-Yo took part in the work on the second album. In June 2011, the singer signed to RCA Records, which will partially produce the new album.
