Band
Genre: Pop music  Rock music  Relax

It all started in 1983 when Steve Marker and Brian "Butch" Vig opened their own recording studio in Madison. In addition to the rather successful activity in the chosen field, the guys, together with Duke Erickson, made their own music. However, it was only in 1994 that they created their own project called "Garbage", after they accidentally saw a clip of a Scottish band featuring Shirley Manson. It was she who became the soloist of the new team.

After a year of work and experiments with sound, the guys released a solo album of the same name and immediately achieved success thanks to the gorgeous vocals of their soloist and the peculiarities of recording and sound processing.

Having declared themselves as a group that makes high-quality and interesting music, the collective worked hard for a couple of years on a new disc, which resulted in the hits “I Think I'm Paranoid”, “Special” and “When I Grow Up”, as well as the album "Garbage Version 2.0" itself, which became multi-platinum.

Numerous concerts and rotations on TV made the group more and more popular, but it was the performance of David Arnold's song "The World Is Not Enough" for the soundtrack to the James Bond film of the same name that raised "Garbage" to the top of fame.

"Beautiful Garbage" is the band's third album, released in 2001 and surprised everyone with the change in mood and style of the musicians. But, nevertheless, the record took first place on the Billboard and was included in the "Top 10 Albums of the Year" by Rolling Stone magazine.

The group usually created its next album longer, and the reasons for this were not only the selectivity and zeal of the musicians. Summer 2003

Shirley Manson underwent surgery on her vocal cords, in addition to this, a conflict was brewing in the group. In connection with all these troubles, the group continued recording the album only in 2004, for the first time during its existence, inviting musicians from outside.

Released in April 2005, the album "Bleed Like Me" immediately after the release returned the group to its former positions.

After that for a year and a half, the group does not give concerts and does not record songs. Only in July 2007 did Garbage release the collection Absolute Garbage

And again the band members go about their projects, only occasionally performing together or recording some kind of cover. But on March 7, 2012 "Garbage" announced the tracklist of their fifth album "Not Your Kind of People", which was released on May 14, 2012. And for the first time since 2007, the group went on a concert tour, performing in May and June in Russia.
