Leona Lewis

Leona Lewis, a Welsh-Guiana singer, was born on April 3, 1985 in London. She now lives in Hackney with her boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa, an electrician by trade. The Hebrew inscription tattooed on Leona's left wrist symbolizes the depth of their relationship.

Leona's star became overnight in 2006, after winning the third season of The X Factor, a show similar to our Star Factory. Leona's debut single "A Moment Like This" (by the way, a cover of the song by Kelly Clarkson) was downloaded over 50,000 times within 30 minutes after its release, and the album "Spirit" was the best-selling record of 2007 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In 2007, Leona signed a five-album contract with the American label J Records and began to conquer the New World. Now she has collaborations with many famous artists and producers (Jimmy Page, Justin Timberlake, Max Martin, etc.), recording a song for the soundtrack to James Cameron's Avatar, numerous awards and a second album "Echo". In May 2010 Leona Lewis is set to embark on her first world tour.

Leona Lewis's music, although it belongs to the pop / r & b genre, does not quite resemble the glamorous, arranged recordings of American giants. Leona herself participates in the writing of the songs performed. Perhaps this contributes to the fact that in her work there is less pretentiousness and more sincere human warmth than that of the same Beyonce. Melodically (and in terms of arrangements) Lewis's songs also differ from those overseas - apparently, her European roots as a musician are reflected. The second album, for example, has a lot of emphasis on live guitars, due to which it seems that just about - and it will turn into real rock. Perhaps, on the next album, Lewis will bring even more surprises to the listeners and maybe even open a new page in the history of r & b.
