The group "140 beats per minute" began its formation in 1998, and has officially existed since 1999.
The band's permanent members are Sergei Konev (producer, composer, arranger, backing vocalist of almost all the band's songs) and Andrei Ivanov (soloist).

Sergey Konev was born and raised in the city of Khimki. While still at the technical school, Sergei formed a group in which he played for a long time. From 1992 to 1994 Sergey played, wrote music and was the producer of the dance group "Eternal Movement", which has changed 3 members during its existence. In parallel with this, since 1993, he has been writing songs for such famous groups as Dune, MGK, as well as for singers N. Novikova, L. Sobolevskaya. At the end of the technical school, he gathered the group again.

In 1994, at the disco, Sergei met Yura, later one of the members of the group "140 beats per minute". The guys create a group called "DJ Beat & 7 project", but since they did not do what they wanted, but what the producer wanted, the album called "Sunset by hand" turned out to be not interesting, although it sold very well.

In the fall of 1998, Sergei met Vasily, the future first producer of 140 beats per minute. Within a year, after endless castings, Evgeny Krupnik is invited to the group as a soloist.

After the end of the five-year contract, Sergey Konev himself becomes the producer of the group and leads it to new heights and victories.

Andrey Ivanov was born in Moscow. At the age of 16, when he first came to one of the Moscow nightclubs, he entered the competition of amateur dancers, where he won. From that moment Andrey's activity as a dancer began. In 2000, Zhanna Friske began her solo career and Andrei was included in her first dance line-up. In 2003, he met the 140 beats per minute group. But in 2004, Andrei received an offer from the famous producer Andrei Grozny (Brilliant, Amega, Zhanna Friske) to try himself as a performer in a boy band. Unfortunately, in 2006, the group split up due to disagreements within the team. Andrey is trying to start a solo career and Sergey Konev, the soloist of the group "140 beats per minute", helps him in this. In 2011, the soloist of "140 beats per minute" Evgeny Krupnik decides to take up solo activities, and Sergey proposes to take his place to Andrey, knowing him as a professional in his field and just a good friend.
