Birdy
Jasmine van den Bogaerd (born May 15, 1996), better known by her stage name Birdy.
She is best known for winning the 2008 Open Mic UK music competition at the age of 12. Her version of "Skinny Love" was released in January 2011, peaking in the top twenty singles charts in the UK and in several European countries. Her debut album "Birdy" was released on November 7, 2011.
Birdy was born on May 15, 1996 in Leamington, England. Her mother is a pianist, and Birdy learned to play the piano at the age of four, and began writing her own music at the age of seven. Birdy is currently attending Priestlands School in Leamington, a small public school that specializes in performing and visual arts. She sings and plays the piano. Her uncle is the actor Sir Dirk Bogard.
In 2011, at the age of 14, Birdy released a cover version of the song "Skinny Love". The song became her first hit on the UK singles chart, peaking at No. 17.
In November 2011, his debut ald "Birdy" was released. In the Netherlands, he sold over 25,000 copies of his debut album.
