Singer
Real name: Виктор Робертович Цой
Genre: Russian rock

Viktor Tsoi was born on June 21, 1962 in Leningrad, in the family of a physical education teacher Valentina Vasilievna and engineer Robert Maksimovich. In 1978, after finishing eight classes, Victor entered the art school. V. Serova

In 1976, Tsoi met the songwriter and singer M. Pashkov, with whom they later organized a group.

Fresh musical ideas wafted in the air. It was during this period that Choi began to compose his own songs, usually based on his own observations of life.

In the fall of 1981, the group "Garin and Hyperboloids" appeared, consisting of Viktor Tsoi, Alexey "Fish" Rybin (guitars and vocals) and Oleg "Basis" Valinsky (drums). In November 1981 they joined the Leningrad Rock Club. In the spring of 1982, replacing the previous name with "Kino", they recorded the album "45" (so named for the duration of its sound). Boris Grebenshchikov acted as a sound producer, and all members of the Aquarium group acted as session musicians.

Throughout 1982, the group gave several more concerts in Moscow, and in 1983 the group changed. In May 1984 "Kino" consisting of Viktor Tsoi, Yuri Kasparyan (guitar), Alexander Titov (bass guitar) and new drummer Georgy "Gustav" Guryanov, having rehearsed a new program in two months, became laureates of the second Leningrad rock festival. It was a real sensation. At the same time, the group recorded their famous album "Head of Kamchatka".

In 1985, Kino recorded the work This Is Not Love, which quickly spread across the country in the form of a magnetic album. In November 1985 Titov was replaced by bass player Igor Tikhomirov. From that moment until the very end, the composition of "Kino" remained unchanged.

At the beginning of 1986, the group completed the album "Night", which was later released as a disc at the "Melodiya" company; in the same year the album "46" was recorded. The popularity of the group began to grow by leaps and bounds. The musicians closely watched the evolution of the musical process in the West and tried to find application in their music of the most interesting they heard.

After the success of the "Blood Group" album (1988), as well as the appearance of the "Kino" group in the film "Assa" by Sergei Alexandrovich Solovyov, a real "movie mania" swept the country.

In 1989, the album "Star Called Sun" was released, which - the first and last in the history of the group - was recorded in a professional studio. It seemed that "Kino" was doomed to further resounding success. But on August 15, 1990, Viktor Tsoi absurdly and tragically died in a car accident.

In the same autumn, the three remaining members of "Kino" were able to finalize the tape, which miraculously survived in the accident, with a demo of Tsoi's new songs, known today as "Black Album" (1990). Later, through the efforts of Tsoi's widow, Maryana, the album "Unknown Songs of Viktor Tsoi" (1992) was released, which included early recordings of "Kino".

Immediately after 1990, the paths of the former participants in "Kino" parted. The legendary group broke up.
