5 Seconds of summer
5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is an Australian pop rock band formed in Sydney in July 2011 when Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood, who were all at the same school, began posting videos online. In December 2011, drummer Ashton Irwin joined the band to play his first gig at the Sydney Hotel, after which Ashton became a permanent member of the band.
The group attracted the attention of major music labels and publishers and partnered with Sony ATV Music Publishing. Their first music release, an EP titled "Unplugged", peaked at number three on iTunes in Australia, as well as the Top 20 in New Zealand and Sweden.
The group gained attention in 2012 after publishing a series of cover versions of popular songs. Became famous with an invitation from One Direction to the "Take Me Home" tour.
The first single "Out of My Limit" was released exclusively in Australia and New Zealand in November 2012. In February 2014, 5 Seconds of Summer released the worldwide song "She Looks So Perfect", which hit the charts in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the UK.
The self-titled album "5 Seconds of Summer" was released on June 27, 2014.
