Novosti
Despite the fact that the Novosti group is only two years old, its history began almost ten years ago.
It all started around 2000, when Sergey Karpukhin began recording the vocals of his sister Alexandra for demo songs. At that time, each of them strove for solo creativity.
Sergei wrote songs for himself and other artists, participated with Elena Kiper and Oleg Borshchevsky in the "Draw" project, and made remixes.
Alexandra, who dreamed of singing, tried to realize herself in several pop projects.
All this time they periodically recorded demo material.
In 2010, they decided to join forces in the Novosti duet. The name Novosti was chosen as a Russian word recognized by foreigners - by analogy with Moloko from Anthony Burgess's A Clockwork Orange, and as a symbol of new musical ideas that they want to bring to Russian electronic music.
The group's debut album is slated for release in fall 2012.
