Paloma Faith
Paloma Faith was born in London and is half Spanish, half English. "Paloma" in Spanish means "dove". She worked as an assistant to a magician, was engaged in dancing, graduated from the Central College of Art and Design. Saint Martin with a master's degree in theater direction, has performed in burlesque shows and dance clubs.
Paloma's first song is the comedy number It's Christmas (And I Hate You), recorded in a duet with Josh Weller.
In June 2009, Paloma performed at the BBC's "Radio 2 Presents ..." concert. She also gave an interview there. Her first single "Stone Cold Sober" debuted at number 17 on the official UK singles chart. During the summer and fall of 2009, she performed at numerous festivals and television shows.
Paloma Faith's musical style is influenced by soul and jazz, and her vocal style has been compared to that of Amy Winehouse, Duffy and Etta James. Paloma took part in the recording of the new album "Scars" of the British band Basement Jaxx, performing vocals in the song "What's a Girl Got to Do?"
As an actress, Paloma appeared as Andrea in the 2007 film St Trinian's. She also played one of the roles in the film Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus Terry Gilliam, which was released in the UK in October 2009.
