Rod Stewart - Gasoline Alley

Текст песни: I think I know now what's making me sad It's a yearnin' for my own backyard I realize maybe I was wrong to leave Better swallow up my silly country pride Going home, running home Down to Gasoline Alley where I started from Going home, and I'm running home Down to Gasoline Alley where I was born When the weather's better and the rails unfreeze And the wind don't whistle 'round my knees I'll put on my weddin' suit and catch the evening train I'll be home before the milk's upon the door Going home, running home Down to Gasoline Alley where I started from Going home, and I'm running home Down to Gasoline Alley where I was born But if anything should happen and my plans go wrong Should I stray to the house on the hill Let it be known that my intentions were good I'd be singing in my alley if I could And if I'm called away and it's my turn to go Should the blood run cold in my veins Just one favor I'll be asking of you Don't bury me here, it's too cold Take me back, carry me back Down to Gasoline Alley where I started from [x3]

Rod Stewart – Roderick was the fifth child in an English family, his parents were fond of music and football - Rod's father played in the team and predicted a football career for his son. However, in 1959 Rod received a guitar from his father and soon began to play in youth groups. To the chagrin of dad, the son gave up his football career, as she did not allow him to walk, drink and meet girls. As a result, Rod became a handyman, constantly trying his hand at various bands and auditions for producers - without any notable success. Disappointed with the then popular rock and roll, Rod joined the ideological antagonists of rockers - the fashion movement and even became popular among the youth of London due to his emerging husky vocal style and impressive appearance - Rod was one of the first musicians to wear a disorderly "spiked" a hairstyle that would become the hallmark of punks in the 1980s. In general, in the first half of the 60s, Stewart, in his attempts to become famous, "got tired" so much in the musical circles of London that he became already quite famous among the musicians of his "circle". – Род Стюарт

I think I know now what's making me sad
It's a yearnin' for my own backyard
I realize maybe I was wrong to leave
Better swallow up my silly country pride

Going home, running home
Down to Gasoline Alley where I started from
Going home, and I'm running home
Down to Gasoline Alley where I was born

When the weather's better and the rails unfreeze
And the wind don't whistle 'round my knees
I'll put on my weddin' suit and catch the evening train
I'll be home before the milk's upon the door

Going home, running home
Down to Gasoline Alley where I started from
Going home, and I'm running home
Down to Gasoline Alley where I was born

But if anything should happen and my plans go wrong
Should I stray to the house on the hill
Let it be known that my intentions were good
I'd be singing in my alley if I could

And if I'm called away and it's my turn to go
Should the blood run cold in my veins
Just one favor I'll be asking of you
Don't bury me here, it's too cold

Take me back, carry me back
Down to Gasoline Alley where I started from
