Matvey Melnikov (born March 2, 1990, Krymsk), better known by his stage name Mot, is a rap artist, a former member of the "Soul Kitchen" musical project, since March 1, 2013, an artist of the Black Star Inc. label

Matvey Melnikov After graduating from school with a gold medal, Melnikov entered Moscow State University as an economist-manager. In 2012 he defended his diploma and entered graduate school. In one of the interviews, he noted that he had a Greek origin.

Mot started writing his first songs in 2006: they were funky freestyle, dedicated to Russian rap. Later, the musician began to write more serious lyrics, composed to the music of Caste and the CunninLynguists.

In 2009 he took part in the "Battle for Respect" competition, where he was among the 2000 participants in the Top 40. There, on the advice of Legalize, he changed his nickname "BthaMoT2bdabot" to "Mot".

Mota's debut album was released in January 2011 and was named Remote.

In February 2012, Mota's second album, "Repair", was released.

The rapper's third album "Dash" was released in the fall of 2013.

On March 14, 2016, the fourth studio album "Inside Out" was released. It includes joint songs with Jah Khalib, Bianca, Music Hayk and Artyom Pivovarov.
