Ok Go
OK Go is an American alternative rock band from Chicago who now live in Los Angeles. Line-up: Damien Kulash (vocals and guitar), Tim Nordwind (bass and backing vocals), Dan Konopka (drums and percussion) and Andy Ross (keyboards, guitar and backing vocals), who joined the band in 2005. replacing Andy Duncan.
Vocalist Damien Kulash met bassist Tim Nordwind at the Interlochen Arts Camp when they were 11 years old. Damien did graphic design there, and Tim did music. They met for a table tennis game, which Damien won. The name of the group comes from the words of their art teacher who said "OK ... Go!" on lessons.
The biggest influences on OK Go were Pixies, The Cars, Cheap Trick, T.Rex, Queen, Prince, The Zombies and punk rock bands from Washington DC, especially Fugazi and Shudder To Think.
The group released three albums, the popularity of which was brought by clips shot for individual songs. For example, the album "Oh No" gained popularity thanks to the music video for the song "A Million Ways", which became an infectious internet meme in the fall of 2005. By August 2006, the clip became the most downloaded video with over 9 million downloads.
The last album was released in 2010 "Of The Blue Color Of The Sky".
