Pet Shop Boys – The duo Pet Shop Boys have miraculously managed to remain relevant and loved by the public for twenty-five years in a row. None of their ten studio albums missed the top ten on the UK charts. Pet Shop Boys have always served as a model for a kind of pop music for intellectuals: restrained and sophisticated electronic arrangements, excellent songwriting, Neil Tennant's melancholic voice and ironic lyrics, often touching on social topics. Both members of the duo are gay, and although Chris and Neil began to talk about it openly only in the mid-nineties, their songs always had a liberal "message". They had time to go to Catholic schools (It's A Sin) and give a second life to the old gay anthem (Go West). – Пет Шоп Бойз

The famous clip of Pet Shop Boys - "West End Girls" was released in 1986. The first version of "West End Girls" was recorded with producer Bobby Orlando in New York and was released as a single on April 9, 1984. The single was unsuccessful - it only peaked at # 121 in England - but became a club hit in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Belgium. After signing with Parlophone Records, Pet Shop Boys re-recorded West End Girls in 1985. It was this new version that brought success and fame to the duo, both in the UK and in the USA. In 1986, West End Girls entered the album Please.
